Domestic abuse is any single or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are, or have been partners or family members. Domestic abuse can occur regardless of the gender or sexuality of those involved.

What do we do?
We know that talking about domestic abuse can be a frightening thought for many victims. That's why we promise to listen, understand individual circumstances and provide support through an agreed action plan.
We also work in close partnership with a range of specialist organisations that can provide support tailored to individual needs.

Women's Aid - Silent Solutions
Silent Solutions is for victims of domestic abuse who might be afraid of further danger and escalation of harm if they are overheard when calling 999 in an emergency.

Under Clare's Law you can apply for information about your current or ex-partner because you're worried they may have a history of abuse and are a risk to you. You can also request information about the current or ex-partner of a friend or relative because you're worried they might be at risk. You can do this on the Police's website.
