North East Housing Partnership
The North East Housing Partnership brings together social housing providers from around the North East to work collectively to achieve shared goals to improve communities and to deliver more social housing.
Building better for the North East
We are delighted to be one of the 17 housing associations, local authorities and Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMOs) in the partnership. Together we own and manage 214,000 homes in the new North East Mayoral Combined Authority area (NEMCA).
Our partnership will work towards effective collaboration and engagement with the NEMCA to deliver economic, social, and environmental benefits to the region.
We’re focusing on four key areas of work:
Regeneration, development and placemaking
We’ll build new homes to meet the need for truly affordable housing and create great places to live where communities can thrive.
Net zero and sustainability
We will decarbonise homes across the North East, making them warmer and cheaper to heat.
Employability and social inclusion
We’re helping people into work, supporting them in employment, helping them develop new skills and strengthening the regional economy.
Health, care and homelessness
We can help people live longer, healthier lives by working in partnership with others across the region.
Our prospectus
All 17 partners have collaborated on a prospectus for change entitled ‘Building Better for the North East’. This prospectus showcases what we are already doing as housing providers and features case studies highlighting our impact. In the prospectus, we set out our offer for the NEMCA region and our asks of the NEMCA.
