We are very happy to receive notification of planning approval from Durham County Council to progress with further improvement works on the Jubilee Fields Estate.

Two flats located on Maple Avenue, Shildon will be transformed into a spacious five-bedroom family home this summer.

Unused due to no demand since 2017, the flats will be remodeled into one home with five bedrooms (one at ground floor level), a new kitchen, ground floor level access wet room, UPVC windows and doors alongside cavity and loft insulation to improve energy efficiency and reduce heating costs.

Located very close to our recently completed new build development, work will start mid-March 2025 with completion by June 2025. Applications for this home will be via Durham Key Options on our website.

Abi Pocklington, Housing Adviser, said: "We are pleased to be able to offer this spacious five-bedroom family home located in the heart of Shildon. An ideal property for larger families, contributing to meeting local demand and complementing our extensive regeneration work in this area."

Paul Fullard, Asset Sustainability Manager, said: "We are dedicated to providing homes to meet the demand of our local communities. These improvements will make the best use of this property structure,  and incorporating energy efficient works will ensure it will remain affordable to heat."
