Working with the Police, Cornforth Partnership, and the LADDER Centre, Ferryhill we identified vulnerable tenants who would benefit from feeling safer, more secure, and less isolated by having digital home technology installed.
With funding from the 4 Together Area Action Partnership, we were able to install video doorbells, Echo Dots, Hive heating systems, smart lightbulbs, and tablets in 25 homes.
We have received lots of positive feedback following the installations, one tenant, was referred due to poor mobility and health and is now able to use the video doorbell to talk to people at the door and operate his heating and lighting using his tablet.
Andy Coulthard, Community Regeneration Manager said: "A big thanks must go to the 4 Together AAP. Being able to provide the equipment has been life-changing in some circumstances with several of our customers, who have no family nearby being able to see them regularly using a tablet. There have also been a number of people who feel safer having a video doorbell to help them see who is at their door, especially during the darker nights."Home
